Jaded Blossom May 2026 Monthly Challenge

Jaded Blossom May 2026 Monthly Challenge

Theme: Anything Goes

It's the first Sunday of the month which means it's time for a new monthly challenge at Jaded Blossom and I have a couple Seashell Thank You Cards to share with you!  I made both a horizontal and vertical version with similar layouts.

For both cards I used the Paint Splatters Stamp Set and randomly placed them across the paper using Distress Ink - Tumbled Glass and then used the Shell Stencil to ink over top using Distress Oxide - Antique Linen and sprinkled some water over top and dabbed it up with a paper towel before removing stencil to give the shells a fun look.  I then cut my paper out using the Card Mat Dies and distressed the edges and lightly went over the background unevenly to reduce the bright white color of the paper.  I used the Tropical Dies to make the waves and sand which I also cut out with the Card Mat Dies and distressed the edges of each and to cut out the seashells which I also inked the edges of with a coordinating color to the cardstock I used for each.

I adhered the card mat pieces together and placed them on a mat layer ⅛ inch larger using the same paper as the waves.  I wrapped some raffia ribbon around 3 times, and placed 1mm foam tape covering the entire back except for over the raffia and then placed it onto an A2 sized card base.  I then added my seashells and shape sprinkles as an embellishment and used the Thanks and Everyday Vertical Greetings Stamp Sets to add my sentiment.

Jaded Blossom July 2025 Monthly Challenge

Jaded Blossom July 2025 Monthly Challenge

Theme: Anything Goes

Hello crafty friend, I hope you know how Pawsome you are and thanks so much for stopping by and checking out my entry for Jaded Blossom's July Monthly Challenge: Anything Goes!  This month I created an enchanted Seashell Shaker Card (try saying that 10 times fast! 😂) with an adorable little seahorse inside!  I found this super cute shaker/glitter mix at Michaels and couldn't wait to use it!

I used Doodlebug's 12x12 Seaside Summer - Surf's Up paper to make the watery background and used the Tropical Dies to make a sandy floor on an A2 sized horizontal card base.  I then pieced together the seaweed and coral cluster from the Mermaid Add Ons and added a sentiment from the Make a Splash Gnomie stamp set.

To make the seashell I cut out the detailed piece from the Fancy Shell Die multiple times out of plain white cardstock till I had the desired thickness I wanted for the shaker and 1 final time out of the turquois color cardstock for my top layer.  I layered up the plain white pieces and cut off the strips going down the center, so I had an open shaker area and not a bunch of small, divided areas to help my shaker pieces move more freely.  I cut the solid shell shape out of shimmery white cardstock and acetate and then built my seashell shaker.  I added the glued together plain white pieces to my shimmery background, added a thin piece of foam strip behind the center pieces going up from the sides of the pearl for a little support in the middle (I made sure to leave space on the top and bottom so my shaker pieces could still move freely and not be sectioned off), and then added my shaker bits and closed it up with the solid acetate piece with the teal detailed piece glued on top.  I finished it off by adding the bottom piece with the pearl directly to the shell and just used foam squares behind any spots that were sticking out on the back so they wouldn't bend and had support when attached to the card front.

To decorate the inside, I added a strip of the same Doodlebug paper and a sandy bottom that was left over from cutting the front piece out of the Tropical Dies, added a couple seashells and a super cute seahorse from the Mermaid Add Ons, and another sentiment from the Make a Splash Gnomie stamp set.

I just love how this card turned out and can't wait to make more fun seashell shakers!  There is just something about making summery/beachy/water cards that brings so much joy!  I hope you loved checking out this magical creation as much as I did making it and want to thank you again so much for stopping by to see it. I hope this brings you inspiration and invite you to join in on the fun and enter in your own project for the monthly challenge HERE, and while you're at it check out all the other amazing entries and design team inspiration!  Below you will find a list of all the products I used, have a Pawsome Day!
